Josephine Fisher is a solo performer who is working in innovative and experimental theatre in Melbourne.
In her career Josephine has performed on stage, film, TV, in commercial, community arts, Opera, dance theatre, music theatre, cabaret, burlesque and Kabaresque, both in scripted and non scripted group devised/ improvisational theatre. Josephine has trained and uses an eclectic mixture of physical theatre practises based in Butoh, Grotowski, Classical singing, popular singing, characterisation, improvisation, stand up and self authored material. Josephine has worked extensive in the neo Butoh productions of Tony Yap and with many of Melbourne’s best musicians.
Josephine has a Creative Arts Diploma from the Southern University of Queensland. She has taught in schools as a drama teacher, in the Artist in Schools Program, and at Sunbury TAFE in their Small Theatres Course. Josephine has recently completed the Solo Performers course at VUT 2006. Josephine has studied with vocal coachs Grahame Clarke, Curtis Bayliss and Gary May.
